Hereford Quarries is licensed by the Environment Agency to accept and process inert waste for the production of recycled aggregates and screened soil and operates from our 10-acre site just outside Hereford on the A465 Hereford to Bromyard Road, along with our Upper Lyde Gravel Pit.
We are looking for a Wash Plant Operative, based at our Lugg Bridge operation who will work as part of a small multi-skilled team to carry out recycling and processing activities at this busy site.
Reporting to the site Operations Supervisor your main role will be to production day-to-day of wash plant operation, working collaboratively with the onsite team, ensure prestart up and daily routine maintenance checks have been completed, ensure all Health & Safety is being adhered to, and effectively manage wash plant materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Effectively manage with colleagues the correct mixture of raw materials.
· Operating Wash Plant, ensuring maximum production and minimising down time.
· Ensuring products produced meet specification standards.
· Assisting with environmental aspects of the site.
· Maintaining good housekeeping on site.
· Completing general maintenance on wash plant
You will become fully aware of the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and quality policies and ensure they are adhered to at all times, contribute to the Company’s zero harm culture. You will always work in a safe manner to ensure your own and team members safety and support the Operations Supervisor to continuously improve site operations.
The successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work, ideally have experience in plant operations to include screening, crushing, washing of aggregates and water management however, training and development will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the necessary skills and aptitude to take on this challenging rewarding role. We are expanding our team and have a vacancy for an experienced Accounts / Administration Assistant at our office at Lugg Bridge.
Role Responsibility: You will be working as a key member of the team, working closely with the commercial and weighbridge operations team. The role is customer facing, and you will be responsible for processing purchase invoices, creating all sales invoices / statements, ensure all cash books are maintained and reconciled within a timely manner, and the completion of month end tasks. Reporting to the Commercial Manager and working together with accounts team at our Head Office in Rotherwas.
You will assist with taking telephone enquiries, raising delivery and collection tickets, along with other general administrative tasks. You will be well organised, with excellent attention to detail as well as enthusiastic, driven and customer focused. There will also be a requirement to provide cover for holidays etc, and joining the Saturday working rota.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate should be able to evidence strong accounts knowledge and customer service experience. You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated, organised individual with excellent attention to detail, who has an approachable personality and is calm under pressure.
Proven experience of working in an account’s environment will be essential. It will be helpful for you to also have a good familiarity of our local geography.
