Hereford Quarries was established in 2015 as a new addition to the Wye Valley Group of companies. Having vast experience in the recycling sector spanning 40 years and with a portfolio already including demolition, metal recycling, car dismantling, skip hire, waste recycling, muck away, and reclamation, it was a natural progression to enter into recycled aggregates. Hereford Quarries actively promote the use of recycled aggregates from demolition and construction projects in order to minimise land fill and maximise sustainability.
From our dedicated recycling site at the former Lugg bridge quarry, Hereford, we are licensed by the Environment Agency to accept inert waste for sorting and processing aggregates and soils using crushers and screeners which enabled us to expand our range of recycled products.
Hereford Quarries recognises the need to protect the environment in which we live and work and use natural resources prudently across the whole of the services that we provide. Situated in a designated site of special scientific interest, we are fully committed to working alongside the environment agency to ensure that all processes at Hereford Quarries are carried out to the highest standards, to enable our surrounding wildlife and environment to continue to flourish. A sustainable environment is one of the key elements of regeneration process to which we are committed to working with client “partners” to achieve the recommendations of UK Sustainable Development Commission. We are currently working towards joining our sister companies within the Wye Valley Group in gaining ISO 14001:2004 accreditation, a formal environmental management system.

We also work closely with the waste and resources action programme (WRAP) protocol for recycled aggregates to ensure our products are meeting all EU and British standards. Our products are regularly externally tested in line with the WRAP protocol. Click here to view the WRAP website.
